North Park Beer Co.: Brew-Tail Flights And A New Brunch Menu By Mastiff Kitchen

North Park Beer Co. is nestled in the heart of North Park. They leave no detail to the wayside. Basile Studios, who also designed hotspots Kindred and Polite Provisions, has turned this former boxing gym into a spectacular mid-century space where every detail has been intentionally thought out; from the logo tiles in the bathrooms, the custom street lamps, and the most gorgeous dark stone bar top. The beer at NPBC is equally thoughtful (and delicious,) and the creativity and pairings of flavor and beer by Justin Stoddard’s (associate tap-room manager) brew-tails are nothing short of a bloody mary beer-loving Christmas miracle!

Sunday Morning Remedy Bloody Mary at The Nolen Rooftop

Do you love blue skies, unbelievable views and great food and drinks? Then look no further than the 14th-floor rooftop destination bar, The Nolen, for “The Sunday Requirement.” I require that you try this place out as soon as possible! When I walked off the elevator and turned the corner, my jaw dropped to the floor. I was blown away by the expansive views and tall ceilings, as were the other members of my monthly Bloody Mary Meetup Group

From-Scratch Bloodys from True Food Kitchen

Have you ever tried something so fresh and tasty that you leave the restaurant feeling energized and refreshed? That’s how I feel every time I leave True Food Kitchen, located at Fashion Valley Mall, a fabulous open-air mall. So, naturally, I’ve stopped in True Food on several occasions with friends and my husband. I wasn’t aware they had brunch, so when I saw their sign outside advertising brunch, I was thrilled!

Bloody Marys at Liberty Public Market's Mess Hall

Lucky for me, the Market Mary was unavailable because the garnish would’ve been a distraction from the palatable bloody mary mix. Keeping with their craft cocktail theme, the mix is made in-house and fresh! The Bloody was fierce and citrusy from the olive brine and fresh lemon juice, instantly raising my blood pressure.

Ocean Views and Bloody Marys at Duke's, La Jolla

To complement the Demitri's, Duke's La Jolla uses St. George's Green Chili Vodka. St. George's contains serranos and bell peppers, layered with notes lime and cilantro, a true California palette. St. George's brings the depth of this bloody mary flavor to the next level. The bloody is sweet and savory with a final pop of heat from the vodka, that leaves you wanting more. It is not difficult to drink the entire bloody in just a few minutes.

The Barnyard Bloody Mary at Farmer's Table

The Barn Yard Mary comes with multiple skewers of roasted seasonal veggies (zucchini, peppers, stuffed mushroom caps), tomato and mozzarella, pickled veggies (pepperoncini, olives, and onions) bacon wrapped shrimp, Mexican street corn (my favorite part), sage fennel sausage, and oh, a WHOLE ROASTED CHICKEN! Not just some dried out chicken, a juicy, moist, and succulent bird. It comes complete with a BBQ drizzle over everything!

Sexy Charcuterie in a Glass, The Tower23 Bloody Mary at JRDN

The Tower23 bloody mary had a stunning presentation; glistening in the sunbeams on the oceanfront patio, It was almost too pretty to drink! JRDN infuses their vodka with jalapeños and cilantro. I personally love cilantro, it gives meals and drinks such a refreshing and floral taste, in the best way possible. The mix is made in-house with a mild flavor but has that last second kick from the jalapeño infusion and spices. The jalapeños gave the bloody a perfect amount of heat, making it drinkable for lovers of all spice-levels.

Sandbar, has a great bloody mary in Mission Beach. Dubbed the “BAB”, aka the Big Ass Bloody, Sandbar’s bloody mary won’t let you down. Served in a tall beer mug with what seems like an entire bottle of Skyy Vodka, this bloody had me wondering how I was going to get home!

Build Your Own Bloody Mary at Davanti Enoteca in Little Italy

Next, a qualified assistant walks you through the bloody mary bar and builds it for you! Because one does not, “build your own”. You let your bloody mary assistant know how spicy you want it (there is a large array of hot sauces to choose from) on a scale of 1-10, she adds Worcestershire sauce and fresh lemon juice and then your journey begins. Courtney and I went in two different directions for our toppings. Courtney chose bacon, prosciutto wrapped asparagus, ham, and a few veggies. I went for a kosher salt rim, pepper, celery salt, chili powder, pickled carrots, cauliflower, and peppers.
