Brunchfaced: Summer is on it's way!

No more RAIN!!!! It might still be a little foggy this weekend, but finally, for the foreseeable future, the rain went back to wherever it came from! Summer is finally on it’s way!! Here’s my top picks on where to get brunch faced on this rain-free weekend!!

Brunchfaced: Memorial Day Weekend

It’s another 3 day weekend! That means 3 days to get Brunchfaced!!! Here’s my top picks around San Diego and North County for a full weekend of festivities!

A Bloody Mary Menu with House-infused Vodkas Steal the Show at Biergarden, Encinitas

Biergarden does have a large selection of San Diego brews on tap but I decided on Biergarden because of their brunch and FULL Bloody Mary menu! The bloody mary menu definitely steals the show! Not one, not two, not three, but FIVE bloody marys for your tasting and drinking pleasure. In a sea of tomato juice, vodka, and celery sticks, nothing makes your girl more excited than variety and individuality (that goes for my food and life in general).

Brunchfaced: Mother's Day Weekend

One of the busiest days in the dining industry is mothers day, and for good reason! It’s a day for us to treat our moms and celebrate them for all they do! Mom’s need to get brunchfaced once in a while too! There are sooooooo many places offering wonderful Mothers Day specials but I’ve narrowed down my list this time to a few places. For a HUGE list check out our friends at THERE San Diego’s list here.

Day Dining at the Newly Opened Fort Oak in Mission Hills

In a sea of chilaquiles, breakfast burritos, and huevos rancheros, typical for Southern California brunch menus, Fort Oak is pushing the boundaries of what a brunch menu can be. Trust me there is nothing better than having a hangover, drinking a stiff bloody mary and devouring a giant breakfast burrito, but it is also nice to have a more refined and upscale brunch experience. When you try a new restaurant and get the experience of tasting something you’ve never experienced before; don’t us brunchers and day diners deserve the same experience?

The Drunken Tomato Awards 2019 Results Are In!

It’s that time of year again!!! The results of the 2nd annual Drunken Tomato Awards are in!! Shelley Buchanan of The Drunken Tomato hosted twelve bloody mary experts from across the country, who came together for an epic weekend in Los Angeles, California to name the best bloody mary mixes in the world! It was a lot of “hard work” but hey, someone’s got to do it!

The Farm Bloody Mary At Toast

The Farm Bloody Mary is garnished to perfection! Even the bacon is different; it’s beef, not pork, which San Diego Food Girl said was outstanding! There’s an adorable itty bitty breakfast meatball, deep-fried blue cheese olive (delicious), smoked cheddar, pickled asparagus and cayenne pickled garlic and pepperoncini. If you still have room for breakfast after your meal in a glass, I would recommend the veggie Benedict or the shrimp and grits! I can’t tell you how amazing it was!

Sunday Morning Remedy

Do you love blue skies, unbelievable views and great food and drinks? Then look no further than the 14th-floor rooftop destination bar, The Nolen, for “The Sunday Requirement.” I require that you try this place out as soon as possible! When I walked off the elevator and turned the corner, my jaw dropped to the floor. I was blown away by the expansive views and tall ceilings, as were the other members of my monthly Bloody Mary Meetup Group

From-Scratch Bloodys from True Food Kitchen

Have you ever tried something so fresh and tasty that you leave the restaurant feeling energized and refreshed? That’s how I feel every time I leave True Food Kitchen, located at Fashion Valley Mall, a fabulous open-air mall. So, naturally, I’ve stopped in True Food on several occasions with friends and my husband. I wasn’t aware they had brunch, so when I saw their sign outside advertising brunch, I was thrilled!
