Brunchfaced: Your Ultimate Guide for National Bloody Mary Day

Happy New Year! Not only is it the first day of a new year, but it is also National Bloody Mary Day!!!! That one day of the year where the entire world is hung over, a bloody mary and a solid brunch are essential for just about everyone. If you partied like it’s 1999, here is my ultimate guide on where to get a bloody mary and brunchfaced on National Bloody Mary Day in San Diego!

Miss B’s Coconut Club - Mission Beach

Swing by Miss B's Coconut Club, in Mission Beach, to kick off 2019 in style. The island-inspired beach bar will be hosting a patio party with live entertainment, music, tons of drink specials and their delicious brunch menu. Coconut Rum French Toast, with mango berry syrup, the Jerk Chicken and Waffles or the massive Coconut Club Breakfast Burrito will surely help you conquer any hangover from your New Year’s Eve celebration the night before! And if you need a little extra help getting into party mode, start with the House Jerk Bloody Mary, a cocktail with scratch-made jerk seasoning and scotch bonnet infused bloody mary mix.

Davanti Enoteca - Del Mar & Little Italy

Kick off 2019 in your coziest pajamas for our New Years day pajama brunch! Roll out of bed and into Davanti Enoteca Del Mar or Little Italy on New Year's Day. They’ll be serving up their weekend brunch menu including the cheese curd topped Davanti burger and the pork belly hash, along with bottomless mimosas and that swoon-worthy build your own Bloody Mary Bar (one of the best in San Diego). The clothes you were in the night before don’t count as pajamas, fyi.

Union Kitchen & Tap - Encinitas

Recover from your New Year’s Eve festivities at Union Kitchen & Tap Encinitas, a laidback coastal setting that brings modern-American cuisine to Downtown Encinitas’ discerning foodies. Gorge on their New Year’s Day Banana Foster Waffle, a malted vanilla waffle topped with banana custard, whipped cream, and rum-infused maple syrup. Soothe your achy soul with a bacon-topped bloody mary, because those two things are pretty much the solution to anything in this world, including world peace.

barleymash - Gaslamp

Start the year off on the right foot at barleymash, a Gaslamp District fun, high-energy restaurant on the corner of 5th and Market. Not only can you get your brunch on with an assortment of tasty barleyhash plates or the biggest cinnamon roll you’ve ever seen, but you can also raise a glass at the Skyy Vodka Bloody Bar. Build a bloody mary that dreams are made of by adding bacon, olives, celery or bell peppers, and spice things up by sprinkling cayenne and red pepper flakes, among other spices. The possibilities are endless for creating delicious drinks!

Hundred Proof - Hillcrest

On New Year’s day, if adulting is too hard, that’s okay, we understand. Revert back to childhood with Stephen Kurpinksky’s cereal infused cocktails including the fruit loops Ramos fizz and rice tikis, because tomorrow, you’re getting you sh*t together, it’s a new year. Hundred Proof also has a delicious bloody mary that goes down smooth and quick to alleviate hangover symptoms fast! What’s even cooler is they are doing a special collob with Cutwater Spirits and a new years day toast at noon, featuring Cutwater’s new rye whiskey. Soak that all up with their amazing fried chicken and French toast with maple pecan butter or the juicy HP burger.
