Table-side Bloody Mary Cart at 1909

1909 Temecula, Part II

Did you read part one of this blog, The Carnivore? Well, I highly suggest you go back to the blog page and do so!  Not only does 1909 Temecula have the mammoth meaty bloody, The Carnivore, they also have 3 other bloody marys that are made table-side by a bartender with a bloody mary cart!

Just when you think you’ve seen it all, a cart pulls up to your table with your own personal bartender, in my case, Matt, to mix you a bloody to your liking. You can choose from the 1909 Bloody, Wei Bloody, or the Classic Bloody. Choose how spicy, what kind of vodka, and if you want the rim salted! It is like bloody mary dim sum!

Still feeling full from The Carnivore, I decided to go with the Classic Bloody. I told Matt I wanted it slightly spicy and with Tito’s Vodka! As he was mixing my cocktail, I noticed all eyeballs on my table. It’s a VIP experience.

The classic bloody is spicy and tangy! A hair of the dog bloody, it’ll make your senses tingle. The spice comes from the horseradish and hot sauce and the tang comes from the fresh citrus. 1909 describes it on the menu as, “the big easy in SoCal”. It is a very refreshing and light drink, which is great for the hotter temperatures of Temecula!

The Wei Bloody is my favorite mix of them all. With an Asian flavor profile, this mix is umami, umami, umami; hearty, brothy, rich and savory. I love the saltiness and the strong garlic flavor.  This mix is not particularly spicy but the addition of wasabi balances the cocktail perfectly.

The 1909 Bloody uses the same 30+ ingredient mix as The Carnivore. It’s spicy, smoky, rich and delicious! The bartender tops off the bloody with some simple garnish and alas you have a bloody mary in front of you! It’s a nice treat to receive such personalized service.

If you’re in Temecula I highly recommend 1909! I’m looking forward to going back! Especially, when I saw a mug completely covered in sprinkles and overflowing with ice cream go by my table! Yummy! It is a dining experience you will not forget! The staff is great, the service is great and the patio on Old Town Front Street makes for the best people watching!
