National Bloody Mary Day Recipe

Breakfast Taco Topped Bloody Mary made with Award Winning Cocktail Artist Premium Bloody Mary Mix and Fresh Cravings Salsa with Jalapeño Infused Vodka

YOU GUYS!!! It’s our national holiday!!! January 1st is National Bloody Mary Day aka New Year’s Day. I feel so fortunate to celebrate this special day with you!! Not only is it National Bloody Mary Day but it is also National Hangover Day and Taco Tuesday!!! Talk about the ultimate trifecta!

But there’s a reason these days exist and that’s because on New Year’s Eve even the unlikeliest of partiers had one too many and stayed up way past their bedtime (that’s me). So, if that’s you, you’re going to need a hearty breakfast and stiff bloody mary to soothe your throbbing headache and restore the balance to your suffering soul.

My go to, the award wining Cocktail Artist Premium Bloody Mary Mix, available at Walmart, is a rich and savory bloody mary mix that has all the right spice and boldness to cure any hangover, but I wanted to take it one step further. A spicy bloody mary to sweat out the sins of 2018, I infused the vodka with jalapeños to really “kick” start the year into high gear and celebrate National Bloody Mary Day with flare.

However, just a brunch cocktail won’t do, we need some food in our stomachs to soak up all that alcohol because the point here is to recover, not get equally intoxicated on National Hangover Day. I decided a breakfast taco is just the solution to top my bloody mary with because today also happens to be #tacotuesday, so why the heck not. For me personally, I need a great salsa on top of my taco so I tried out a new salsa, Fresh Cravings Salsa which just so happens to be the number one salsa in the United States!! It’s made with fresh ingredients and is never cooked so you can find it in the refrigerated section at your local Walmart!

Ingredients - Serves 3:

Jalapeno Infused Vodka

One Jalapeño

2 cups of vodka (there will be leftovers for future use)

Mason jar with lid

Breakfast Tacos

1/2 dozen of eggs

2 tbsp of butter

6 soft mini flour tortillas

Mexican style shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 of an avocado

4-6 tsp of Fresh Cravings Salsa

Pinch of salt and pepper per taco

6 Breakfast sausage links (in my case I used maple chicken apple sausages)

Bloody Mary

24oz of award winning Cocktail Artist Premium Bloody Mary Mix

Jalapeño Infused Vodka

  1. Slice one jalapeño thinly and remove seeds

  2. Pour one mason jar full of vodka

  3. Add jalapeños to the vodka

  4. Cover jar as tightly as you can and store in a cool dry place. Store from 1 hour to 24 hours. The longer you store the more spicy and potent the vodka will be. I recommend not infusing for longer than 24 hours

  5. Strain jalapeños out of vodka when done infusing and/or ready to use

Breakfast Tacos

  1. Dice 1/2 red pepper and 1/8 of a white onion and 1/2 an avocado

  2. Heat skillet with 1 tbsp of butter, add peppers and onions to skillet to brown

  3. While peppers and onions are browning, crack 6 eggs into a mixing bowl and whisk until even

  4. Add eggs to skillet and scramble mixture until cooked thoroughly

  5. In separate skillet heat 1 tbsp of butter and add tortillas to brown and crisp them. This make it easier for the tortillas to shit on top of you bloody mary

  6. Fill browned tortillas with egg mixture

  7. Add cheese first, then avocado and top with Fresh Cravings Salsa

  8. Spinkle a pinch of salt and pepper on top

  9. Heat sausages in microwave, follow instructions on the box

Bloody Mary

  1. Fill pint glass with ice

  2. Combine 1.5 oz jalapeño infused vodka with 8oz award winning Cocktail Artist Premium Bloody Mary Mix per bloody mary and add to glass. Stir throughly so that the vodka doesn’t sit on top

  3. Garnish with sausages on each end of skewer and breakfast tacos in the middle (2 tacos with Fresh. Cravings Salsa and sausages per bloody mary)

*sip and enjoy and please drink responsibly - Happy National Bloody Mary Day!
