Thanksgiving Leftovers

Is there anything better than Thanksgiving? Family, friends, and food, Thanksgiving gives us so much to be thankful for, and that is why it is one of my favorite holidays!! Now while much doesn’t compare to that, Thanksgiving LEFTOVERS comes in a close second!!! Thanksgiving turkey dinner only comes once a year, so I cherish every time I can open the fridge and reheat a heaping plate of turkey, mashed potatoes, and stuffing smothered in my homemade scratch gravy! Believe it or not, the savory and umami flavors of Thanksgiving compliment perfectly with a rich and warm morning after bloody mary.

Use your leftover seasonings

With leftovers in mind, I created this Thanksgiving Leftovers Bloody Mary Recipe that you can easily make with your leftover food and seasonings. I know personally my sage and turkey mix seasonings don’t get used more than a few times a year at best so this is the perfect opportunity to use them up! Plus my fresh herbs always have leftovers too and I hate throwing anything away! No need to run to the store, you have everything you need already from Thanksgiving. Wake up and mix yourself a savory and herbaceous cocktail….because you deserve it! Maybe even eat some leftovers with it for breakfast because, why not? That’s what I did!

For this recipe, I used my Cocktail Artist Premium Bloody Mary Mix (but you can use any mix you want, bottled or homemade) that I picked up at Walmart a few weeks back. The addition of some Thanksgiving herbs to the rich and savory Cocktail Artist mix and topping the drink with some leftovers were the perfect post-holiday cocktail. When you sip the drink, the aromatics from the fresh thyme and rosemary take you back to Thanksgiving Day all over again!

What food leftovers can I use?

In the world of bloody mary garnish all is fair game! I made this recipe a few years ago and I decided to use leftover herb sprigs, roasted vegetables, and stuffing balls. I made the recipe again last year because a great recipe that uses leftovers comes in handy every year and went big with a turkey sandwich on top! It was a great meal in a glass for lunch on black Friday while. I safely and comfortably shopped from home! You can literally put any leftovers on top you want, get funky with it, there’s no rules!

How long will the Thanksgiving leftovers bloody mary last?

You can store the bloody mary mix, shaken with all the spices and herbs in the refrigerator up to 4 days, so basically enough to get you through the long weekend! As far as the garnish goes, you can add as much or little of whatever you have leftover, like I said there are no rules!
