What kind of beer and champagne should I use for the Pumpkin Spice Beermosa?

For the Pumpkin Spice Beermosa Recipe, I used a pumpkin-flavored beer. I went with Blue Moon’s Harvest Pumpkin Wheat because it was still a little early and the rest of the pumpkin beers weren’t on the shelf yet. Every city has some really awesome craft breweries who put out seasonal pumpkin beers, and I highly recommend one of those, especially if you have a favorite, no disrespect to Blue Moon but I just love supporting our cities small businesses!

This recipe is going to be more beer forward, so I don’t suggest using incredibly expensive champagne, and I would recommend using a dry champagne. However, it’s totally up to you if you want to go sweeter with a prosecco, it may just drown out the pumpkin spice a bit with the high sugar content.

How do you make a pumpkin spice beermosa?

Make the pumpkin spice beermosas as you are ready to drink/serve. Start by filling a glass 1/2 or 3/4 full of your pumpkin flavored beer. I keep it flexible because you really cant mess it up, you can just tailor it to your own preferences! Next add your pumpkin spice seasoning and let the foam from the beer settle for a few minutes because you’ll want the room for the champagne. Fill the rest of the glass with your favorite champagne or sparkling wine! Garnish with fall flavored star anise and voila!

Can I make the pumpkin spice beermosa ahead of time?

I would not recommend making these ahead of time. You’re using 2 alcohols that have carbonation so they should be chilled and then opened and mixed when you’re ready to serve them immediately. If you mix them ahead of time they will definitely fall flat and wont have that same crisp and refreshing taste.

The same goes for leftovers. If you keep the champagne and beers unopened until needed then they’ll last to their expiration date on the label. If you open any and don’t use all of it, I would recommend drinking them or umping them out after a few hours. I hate to say to waste alcohol but champagne and beer just don’t hold well after being opened.

What kind of glass should you serve the pumpkin spice beermosa’s in?

As I mentioned, this recipe is more beer forward so I recommend using a beer pint. In addition, the larger glasses give more space to follow the recipe. However, you can get bougie if you like, you will just have to adjust the measurements to fit a champagne flute. That means more time making new drinks instead of relaxing and sipping on your fall-inspired cocktail!
